What is Spring?

A spring is a device that changes its shape when an external force is applied, and returns to its original shape when the force is removed. The energy expended in deforming the spring is stored in it and can be recovered when the spring returns to its original shape. There is a limitation of force that can be applied on Spring as it is depended on the dimensions of a Spring. If too large a force is applied, however, the spring will permanently deform and never return to its original shape. There are different types of springs according to the action & application.
